As an interior photographer based in Northwest Arkansas, I love any opportunity to include a family pet in a photo shoot. If you know me, you know how much I love animals—especially dogs! Any chance I get to include a family pet in an interior photo shoot, I take! I love the warmth, life and authenticity that an animal brings to a space.
When photographing a home, pets are rarely part of the original plan. Most often, they wander into the frame out of curiosity—or because the cozy chair I was photographing looks just a little too inviting. Rather than moving them, I embrace these moments. A pet naturally relaxing in the space instantly makes a home feel lived-in, welcoming, and full of life.
While including pets in interior photography can sometimes take a little extra time, it’s always worth the patience. It may take a few minutes for them to settle into a comfortable spot, but the genuine, candid moments that follow add charm to the final images.
If you’re considering an interior photo session in Northwest Arkansas, don’t hesitate to let your pets be part of the fun! They often help tell the story of a home in the most beautiful, authentic way.
