Today was a day of family portraits – Personal – Beach photography

While walking down the beach, we ran into a guy fishing who was reeling in a shark. He was nice enough to take it off the hook and let us touch it. I must say that I’m pretty freaked out by the amount of sharks he’s been catching everyday just down the beach from us. I know they’re in the ocean, but I really just don’t was to see them!

We attempted the cliche white shirt beach photos this evening as the sun was setting. I must say that being a photojournalist has taught me that the perfect smiling family shot is never the best photo. We had a blast trying to get 6 adults, a 4-yr-old, 3 yr-old and 1-yr-old all in the photo looking at the camera… all at the same time. I’m sure it’s much easier when you have a person standing behind the camera trying to capture every one’s attention, but that’s just not how we do it in my family. We like to use the timer… it’s much more entertaining this way!
