Annual Wal-Mart Shareholders Meeting – Corporate Photography

Waking up at 5 a.m. has never been an easy task, but the shareholders meeting is more and more worth it every year. While I’m not really interested in the business aspects of it, I really enjoy the performers that are brought in each year.

Queen Latifah was in the house as MC.

I had to shoot executives in between the performers, but a member of the audience made this photo a little more entertaining that it otherwise might have been.

The wal-martians have landed! I thought this picture looked pretty cool… I’m always trying to keep myself entertained.

There were two idol-contestants that performed. Jennifer Hudson performed her song from Dreamgirls, “And I am telling you I’m not going” idol-winner David Cook performed “This is the time of my life” and “World I know” while playing his Gibson Hummingbird. I only noticed the guitar b/c my mom recently bought a ’67 Hummingbird… a guitar she had always dreamed of having.

I’m diggin’ on you!

Joss Stone was another performer that I was very excited to hear. I love her voice and it was great to see her in action. She was probably the best performer I’ve ever shot at a shareholders meeting b/c she really gave us endless opportunities to capture a great photo of her.

The show closer was Tim McGraw. Ivester and I would rather have seen his wife perform!

Damn you for beating the crap outta my stuff from the show! Nice work!

And, yes, I enjoyed Tim McGraw, but Faith Hill would’ve really made my day.

I’m saddened that these artists would compromise their integrity by performing like trained monkeys for an evil corporation like Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart could have taken the fees they paid these folks and used them to provide health insurance for all their employees instead.

Or just given them a living wage.

Or left a few Mom-and-pop stores standing.

Or sold fewer guns and ammunition to crazy toothless Michigan Militia members, outfitting their post-Apocalyptic cabins in the woods.

Wal-Mart is a filthy pimp: what does that make you?
