Exploring Northwest Arkansas for the Wall Street Journal

A couple of months ago, I received an email from the Wall Street Journal about photographing Northwest Arkansas for an upcoming article. They asked me to photograph the interiors of a couple of homes, portraits of the owners, and a few specific areas. They also asked me to photograph anything I thought was interesting about the area. The requested areas to photograph were in Bentonville, Rogers, and Fayetteville.

I enjoyed meeting the home and business owners and photographing their spaces—interiors are one of my favorite things to shoot. It was also fun to contact local businesses to see if they would mind me stopping by. I only wish the weather had cooperated and the shoot had been a couple of weeks closer to spring. I ended up trying to shoot in between storms, so the skies weren’t the prettiest and Mother Nature hadn’t quite started to wake up.

Overall, I was excited to work with the WSJ again and am always happy to showcase the Northwest Arkansas area where I live. Now that things have greened up a bit, I might have to pop back over to a couple of spots and try to reshoot a few images for my archive.

The Bentonville locations visited were the Walmart Museum (temporarily relocated down the street), Two Friends Books, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and Downtown Bentonville Square.

Rogers locations visited were Onyx Coffee Lab, Railyard Bike Park, and the Daisy Museum.

In Fayetteville, I visited the downtown square.
