Capturing Athletic Power at the Tyson Invitational: Track and Field Photography Highlights

Here are a few exciting shots from the Tyson Invitational, one of my favorite track and field events to photograph. I’ve always been captivated by the strength and agility of these incredible athletes, especially the pole vaulters. There’s something so mesmerizing about watching their muscles in action as they soar through the air with such power and grace.

Track and field photography can be challenging, and I typically struggle with capturing the perfect pole vault shot. But tonight was different—I managed to get a few lucky shots! Maybe it was the magic of my 300mm lens, or maybe I’m finally starting to crack the code on photographing this intense event.

For anyone who loves track and field or sports photography, capturing moments like these is always a thrilling experience. Check out the photos and feel free to share your thoughts!”

Adam Nelson’s throw of 73 feet 6 inches set a world record this year and was the third longest indoor throw of all-time. I’d say he was a little excited about it!
