More ice storm photos – Arkansas – editorial photographer

Here are a few more photos from my AP run today.

The American Red Cross shelter at Har-Ber High School in Springdale. There weren’t many people there when I was there, but they said they had 79 people stay with them last night. One of the women I shot was displaced by hurricane Katrina.

It’s amazing how hard it is to find the utility guys. I know they’re everywhere, but I spent a TON of time today looking for them!

The low water bridge in Johnson is one of my FAVORITE places in NWA. I dropped by there b/c I can always find a “flood” picture when the water is flowing. The road was closed b/c of the high water and the debris that collected along the guardrail. As messed up as the area was, it was really pretty.

You know it’s a national crisis when you find a hand written sign on the door of a grocery store!
