At the end of each year, I like to go through all of my images from that year and evaluate my work. My hope is that I can look at the year and see where I’ve grown, and where I need to improve.

This year I started by going through my collection of sports photography and I put together a gallery of images from track, basketball and football. Track is by far my most favorite sport to photograph. I love that at one time during each meet I’m covering up to 7 events. I love the chaos, and I LOVE the challenge. My two favorite events to shoot are the pole vault and the high jump. I am absolutely intrigued by the ability of these athletes to jump higher than I am tall, and to use a pole to propel themselves through the air and over a bar. I am currently in the middle of shooting indoor track season and I’m in heaven!

My goal for 2014 is to shoot a little better than I did in 2013 and work on better anticipating the action. With sports, it’s not about what you see… if you see it then you missed it.
